Recently I learned that poor access to mental health services is the number one health crisis in Volusia County. — Individuals suffer, families suffer, business suffers and we all suffer, when our neighbors cannot afford the help they seek.
Adults and children suffering from trauma, anxiety, depression, or grief often have no place to turn for effective and affordable help. The emotional and financial cost to our community is tremendous. The average completed suicide costs the local community a staggering 1.2 million dollars in medical costs and lost productivity. The emotional cost to surviving family members cannot be calculated in dollars.
In 2020 we are launching the Access to Wellness Fund. It exists to make counseling affordable and accessible to the most vulnerable people in our community. It is a ‘People Helping People’ solution.
Without financial help, many cannot receive counseling. Please donate today and consider making a recurring monthly donation. It is easy to donate. Follow the link to our Donate page.
God Bless You!
